Even though I’m all about productivity… we all have those days where we just don’t want to be productive at all! Today, we’re going to remedy that. Stay in those PJs and get ready to easily grow your blog from your bed!
Today is Friday and I’m definitely feeling a little lazy today! That definitely doesn’t mean we can’t get at least a little done though. Here some super easy ways you can stay on top of your blogging game while staying cozy in your sheets.
Plus! We’ve got a free blogging checklist just for you 😉
Hashtag away on Instagram!
This is easy enough, right? You were probably going to do this anyways.
Use this time to glance through your own Instagram feed. Do you pictures all go well together? Is there some kind of theme that’s visually appealing to your audience?
If it seems all over the place and haphazard, it’s time to crack down and reorganize. Your feed should flow together and make your viewers immediately aware of what you’re providing to them.
For example, a fitness blogger may not want to have a bunch of pictures of their horses, their favorite TV shows, and their favorite books. Your followers want to know what your blog is about, not every single aspect of your life. Remember, a more focused laser provides better results.
Having trouble coming up with hashtags for Instagram that are effective? Check this out!
Search tags that you frequently use and go through the most popular and most recent results. Like some pics, throw in a comment or two, and favorite interesting ones.
Instagram is a social media network, so be social! The more your name is out there, the more people will be interested and drawn to you.
Let’s connect on Instagram!
Ah, another social beast! Check your messages, your retweets, and mentions. Respond to those that reach out to you (like I said before, be social!).
You can make important connections through your social networking, after all! Glance through your tweets and see which ones appear the most popular. Is there a certain hashtag that seems to be pulling in your audience and engaging them? Take note of that.
Search a blog or website that’s similar to your own but with a higher follower count and check out their tweets. What are they doing differently than you? What can you learn from them?
Follow some of their active followers and give them a retweet. More often than not, they’ll repay the favor.
You can check out my twitter here!
This is easily one of the most important and fruitful things you can do while lazing around today.
Pinterest is ESSENTIAL to growing your blog. Seriously. If you don’t have a Pinterest account for your blog, you go do that right his minute – you’re missing out on free traffic!
Glance at your boards. Like with Instagram, these need to flow and make sense together. Miss fitness blogger should still not have boards relating to her horses, favorite TV shows, and books. Instead, she should have boards dealing with exercises, healthy living tips, or yoga, for example.
Do you pin a mix of others’ pins and your own? It’s important that you do so. People get bored very easily, and if you’re only pinning the same handful of items from your blog repeatedly, they’re going to unfollow you.
Are you part of any group boards? These are great for getting other people to share your content. You can check out a giant list of them here. If you click on their boards, there are usually instructions for application in the description.
Personally, I’m part of three group boards, and I LOVE them! You can check them out on my Pinterest.
Comment Away on Other Blogs!
You can find loads of blogs on conglomeration sites like BlogLovin’ or Pinterest.
Find amazing posts that interest you and follow their blog. It’s especially helpful if you take the time to leave a thoughtful comment.
Engage with other bloggers and learn what they have to offer. Typically, they’ll be quick to respond to you, and there’s even a good chance that they will follow you back.
With other bloggers come the opportunities for collaboration, guest posts, and friendships. Support each other, blog about one another, share each other.
This is a great and simple way to exponentially increase your readership, just by reaching out to others.
Grab a pen and paper and get snuggly in your bed for this one.
Brainstorm future posts and topics, brainstorm your next newsletter, or brainstorm a blogging course that you can offer to subscribers.
A great way to get people engaged and subscribed to your blog (which equals more sharing and more audience!) is to offer them something.
What can Miss fitness blogger offer her readers, who are subscribed to her blog for her amazing fitness tips? (Not horse care, that’s for sure!) She can offer a 7 day exercise challenge or a workbook on her favorite home workouts.
These are easy enough to put together using Canva or Photoshop, and she can brainstorm all of these useful things from her bed!
I hope this list helped your lazy day still have some productivity! What are your favorite ways to grow your blog from your bed?
